Entergy sues Sewerage and Water Board for $1.4K worth of damages to property

NEW ORLEANS – Entergy is suing a local utility board which allegedly inflicted $1,391.53 worth of damages to its property.

Entergy New Orleans Inc. filed suit against the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board and its insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 20.

The complaint states that on Aug. 20, 2012, the Sewerage and Water Board caused damages to the Entergy facilities located at 1925 Mandeville Street in New Orleans. As a result of this damage, Entergy allegedly incurred costs of $1,391.53 in repairs.

The defendant is accused of negligent destruction of property belonging to plaintiff, failure to inspect work area, failure to maintain proper control of its construction equipment and other acts of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks the $1,391.53 for repairs, as well as all the costs of proceedings and attorneys fees and for all general and equitable relief.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney W. Scott Brown of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Lloyd J. Medley.
