Local business sued by contractor for allegedly not paying for renovations

GRETNA – A contractor is suing after providing renovations for a local business for which they claim they were never paid.

M. Dalesandro Inc. filed suit against Accurate Inc., Favalora Constructors Inc. and Wood You Relax LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 3.

M. Dalesandro Inc. alleges it entered into a contract to provide work on Wood You Relax’s business location at 4030 Canal St. in New Orleans. The plaintiff claims it was to perform certain portions of Favalora’s work on the project and Accurate’s work on the project including the installation of gypsum board, cement board, corner bead, acoustical ceilings, painting the materials, drywall finishing, interior painting and application of stain and finishing. M. Dalesandro Inc. asserts that the contracted amount was for $50,529.

The plaintiff claims the work was completed properly, but that Accurate only paid a portion of the total amount, leaving a balance of $23,726 unpaid.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $23,726 is sought by the plaintiff.

M. Dalesandro Inc. is represented by Craig W. Brewer of Metairie-based Staines & Eppling.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.
