GRETNA – A local homeowner is suing a contractor who she claims caused the failure of an electrical system.

Jacqueline S. Brand-Davi filed suit against Lockett Construction Company Inc. and John Lockett in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 31.

Brand-Davi alleges that Lockett Construction Company Inc. and John Lockett provided work on her home located at 701 Pat Drive in Avondale. The plaintiff claims that throughout the time the defendants provided work on her home she experienced unnecessary power outages and loss and destruction of many electrical appliances. Brand-Davi asserts that Lockett Construction Company Inc. and John Lockett  were faulty in the construction they provided on her home.

The defendant is accused of failing to complete work on plumbing, heating, electrical, cooling and ventilating systems.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, payment for damages of electrical appliances, loss of rent due to un-occupancy of tenants due to electrical failure, motel bills and other expenses.

Brand-Davi is represented by Douglas L. Uzee Jr. of Marrero-based Uzee & Richard.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.

Case no. 732-533.
