GRETNA – A local auto repair shop is being sued by a woman who claims her Corvette was wrecked by one of its employees while it was in for repairs.
Carole Hoover filed suit against Sterling & Sterling LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 19.
Hoover asserts she is the owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette which she dropped off at the Sterling & Sterling auto repair business located at 4200 Liberal St. in Metairie in June 2012.
The plaintiff alleges that she dropped off the vehicle for mechanical repairs and that there was no body damage on the car at the time. Hoover claims that when her vehicle was in the care of Sterling & Sterling one of its employees operated the vehicle in a reckless manner and caused substantial body damage to it. The plaintiff asserts that despite numerous requests for the vehicle to be repaired the defendant has not taken any action to make the required repairs.
The defendant is accused of operating the vehicle in a careless manner, operating the vehicle at an excessive rate of speed and failing to maintain control of the vehicle.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for storage charges, auto rental and mental pain and anguish.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
