GRETNA – A Metairie restaurant is being sued by a patron who claims she was disabled in a slip and fall on a wet floor.

Cybra Coleman filed suit against Quarter View Restaurant and Stephen Prado Sr. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 10.

Coleman alleges he was a customer at Quarter View Restaurant located at 613 North Causeway Parkway in Metairie when she was walking toward the restroom and slipped and fell to the floor. The plaintiff claims she was injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain their property, failing to maintain the building and its fixtures in a safe condition, failing to take all precautions to avoid the accident, failing to discover and correct a dangerous condition, failing to provide business invitees a safe place to walk, failing to maintain property in good working condition, failing to maintain property in accordance with law, giving authorization to unsafe practices, failing to provide proper signage, failing to adequately repair the premises and failing to properly conduct work on the building.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, loss of function, mental pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and permanent disability.

Coleman is represented by DaShawn Hayes of the New Orleans-based The Hayes Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
