GRETNA – A casino patron is suing after allegedly being seriously injured in a slip and fall on water in a restroom.

Thaddeus Moses filed suit against Louisiana A-1 Gaming a Louisiana Partnership in Commendam, Pinnacle Entertainment, Boomtown Casino New Orleans, Boomtown Belle Casino Westbank and Zurick North America Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 14.

Moses claims that on Jan. 20, 2013 he was a customer at Boomtown Casino in Harvey when he was walking into a restroom that had water on the floor. The plaintiff asserts that he stepped on the walkway into the bathroom and fell to the floor. Moses alleges he was injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the property to keep it free from hazard, failing to warn visitors of a defective floor, failing to maintain and keep its property in a state of repair, failing to warn of the dangerous conditions of the floor and failing to provide a safe entrance and exit from the bathroom.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of life’s pleasures and disabilities, medical expense, wage loss and loss of earning capacity.

Moses is represented by Stephen Rue of Kenner-based Stephen Rue & Associates LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 734-607.
