Dollar General sued by customer who claims injury after slipping on noodles

GRETNA – A local discount retailer is being sued by a man who alleges he was severely injured in a fall on noodles.

Tony Alfano filed suit against Dolgencorp LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 29.

Alfano alleges that he was a customer at the the Dollar General store located at 2727 Edenborn Ave. in Metairie on Feb. 9, 2013 when he slipped on noodles that were laying exposed on the the floor of the store and fell.

The defendant is accused of knowing of the defect, failing to exercise reasonable care, failing to remove the hazard, failing to maintain property in in a reasonably safe condition and violating state law.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of life’s pleasures, disability, medical expenses, wage loss and loss of earning capacity.

Alfano is represented by Stephen D. Rue of Kenner-based Stephen Rue & Associates LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 735-039.
