National trial attorney conference wraps up in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – American Association of Justice Executive Director Linda Lipsen and its COO Charles Jeffress were among featured speakers at the winter meeting of the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives (NATLE) that wrapped up with a reception Tuesday evening.

The meeting was held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel Feb. 8-10.

According to the conference agenda, tech-focused sessions included: "Website Tips and Tricks," and  "Come On, Get App-y, Getting Hands-On With Key Professional Apps and Tools." In addition, sessions focused on recruiting and retaining trial attorneys and increasing revenue for plaintiffs’ firms.

The conference’s two main sponsors were Trial Smith, a company that operates databases containing depositions from trial experts exclusively serving plaintiffs attorneys, and Synergy Settlement Services, which specializes in assisting personal injury law firms with handling fees and avoinding legal malpractice.

Other sponsors included Alert Communications, a company that provides telephone systems and training for call center receptionists, Cost Containment Express, a company dedicated to controlling medical expenses and negotiating liens and workers’ compensation cases, and Summit Pharmacy, which is a home medication delivery service that specializes in assisting personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.

Committee members who coordinated the conference included Carolyn Donofrio, Delaware Trial Lawyers Association; Jennifer Comer of Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group; Michael Limone of New Jersey Association for Justice; and Mary Zambri of Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington D.C.

NATLE is comprised of 63 member associations representing over 70,000 attorneys across the world.
