Casino sued by woman who claims she was injured in fall at buffet

GRETNA – A local casino is being sued after one of its customers claims she was severely injured in a fall at a buffet.

Tena M. Foster filed suit against Pinnacle Entertainment and Boomtown Belle Casino Westbank in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 13.

Foster alleges that on July 22, 2013 she was asking in the buffet area inside the Boomtown Belle Casino Westbank located at 4132 Peters Road in Harvey when she tripped on a crack in the floor and fell. The plaintiff claims she received severe and disabling injuries in the fall.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain a reasonably safe place for visitors, falling to take necessary measures to protect safety of visitors, falling to properly maintain the premises, falling to want visitors of hazards and failing to take steps to avoid the incident.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, loss of earning capacity, medical expenses, permanent disability, loss of consortium, penalties and attorney’s fees.

Foster is represented by attorney Edward J. Womac of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
