GRETNA – A local restaurant is being sued by a customer who claims she was seriously injured when a kitchen worker opened a door and knocked her down.

Joycelyn Hebert filed suit against Zea LLC, Zea Manhattan LLC, Taste Buds Management LLC, an unknown employee and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 12.

Hebert claims on March 12, 2013 she was a customer at Zea’s restaurant located at 1121 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey and was returning from the restroom when an employee thrust open a door to the kitchen as she was walking by, knocking her to the ground. The plaintiff asserts she received injuries to her back, shoulder and head in the incident.

The defendant is accused of leaving the kitchen without seeing if anyone was in the pathway, traveling at an excessive speed, moving too fast in a small area, failing to avoid an accident and failing to give warning.

An unspecified amount is sought for all damages.

Hebert is represented by attorney William Boustead of Marrero.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

Case no. 736-360.
