Alleged non-payment of $600K for work on offshore living quarters spawns lawsuit

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A fire sprinkler installer is suing over an alleged breach of contract involving the construction of offshore living quarters.

Coastal Fire Protection LLC filed suit against Broadmoor LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 7.

Coastal Fire Protection claims that on Nov. 11, 2011 it entered into a subcontract to provide materials and labor for the installation of a fire sprinkler in the Shell Olympus Living Quarters that were being constructed by Broadmoor. The plaintiff alleges it entered into a schedule compression compensation agreement in which it would receive financial incentives to more quickly complete the job.

Coastal Fire Protection asserts it submitted three invoices under the premium rate hours totaling $603,764.58. However, the plaintiff claims the defendant has refused to pay for the work completed.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $603,764.58 plus interest and attorney’s fees is sought by the plaintiff.

Coastal Fire Protection is represented by Hansford P. Wogan of New Orleans-based Murphy, Rogers, Sloss & Gambel.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

Case no. 737-200.
