NEW ORLEANS – A local woman is suing a casino after slipping and falling in a dance club located in the casino.

Ly Vo filed suit against Jazz Casino Company LLC and Harrah’s Casino in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 27.

On Sept. 15, 2013 Vo was a customer at Masquerade, a club inside Harrah’s, when she slipped on liquid and fell to the ground. Vo alleges she was injured in the incident.

Harrah’s is accused of failing to maintain a reasonably safe place for customers, failing to take necessary measures to protect the safety of its customers, failing to warn customers of dangers and failing to take steps to avoid this incident and failing to properly maintain, inspect and supervise premises.

Vo is suing for damages including physical pain and suffering, mental anguish and emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, lost wages, lost earning capacity and disability.

The plaintiff is represented by George P. Vouvoulias III of Harmon, Smith and Vouroulias LLC.

Harrah’s answered the suit on Feb. 27, claiming the injuries were Vo’s fault and denying all wrongdoing. They are represented by attorneys Robert H. Murphy and Emily Stevens Hardin.

Case is assigned to Division H Judge Val P. Exnicios.

Case no. 2014-01003.
