NEW ORLEANS – A local man has filed suit against an orthopedic doctor and a physical therapist to determine if either committed medical malpractice that resulted in an improperly positioned knee implant.

Ricky Mount filed suit against Orleans Orthopedic Associates and Bobby Kearns of Terrebonne Home Care in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 5.

The plaintiff claims that either the surgical implant of a knee done by the defendant Orleans Orthopedic was done in a negligent way or that the physical therapy given to him by the defendant Terrebonne Home Care was negligent and thus caused the implant to be positioned improperly, a screw to become loose, and other injuries. The plaintiff has requested a malpractice panel to assist in determining the cause of his injuries and verify if his claims against the defendants are factual.

The plaintiff is seeking an unknown amount in damages for his alleged improper treatment.

Ricky Mount is represented by David L. Bateman of the Bateman Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.

Case no. 2014-04431.
