Alleged eyelash extension placement mishap results in lawsuit against nail salon

GRETNA – A nail salon is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured when eyelash extensions were improperly placed on her eyelids.

Charmane Evans filed suit against Hong-Ngo LLC, Hong’s Nail and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 14.

Evans claims that she was a customer at Hong Nails located at 717 Michael St. in Marrero on July 14, 2013 where a technician was applying eyelash extension to her eyelids. The plaintiff asserts that the technician ended up improperly placing the extension on her causing injury.

The defendant is accused of failing to employ a competent technician, failing to warn the client of an inexperienced technician, failing to make the procedure safe and sanitary and failing to take action to avoid the injury.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, mental and physical pain and suffering, residual disability and loss of use.

Evans is represented by New Orleans-based attorney Tim L. Fields.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

Case no. 740-288.
