GRETNA – A corporate retailer is being sued by a customer who alleges she was injured after tripping on a loose piece of carpet and falling to the floor.

Terri Sinceno filed suit against Macy’s Corporate Services in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 15.

Sinceno alleges that on July 18 she was walking in the shoe department when she tripped on a piece of loose carpet and fell to the floor. The plaintiff claims she was injured in the incident and has had to seek treatment from a physician.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises in a safe manner and failing to keep the premises free of danger and potentially dangerous hazards.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of wages, reduction in earning capacity and loss of consortium.

Sinceno is represented by Allen J. Myles of Plaquemine-based Myles & Myles, Attorneys at Law.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.

Case no. 740-332.
