Law firm sues client over outstanding $26K bill

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A law firm is suing one of its clients which allegedly owes more than $26,000 for representation in a condo association dispute.

Beevers & Beevers LLP filed suit against Roy Cangelosi in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 15.

Beevers & Beevers asserts it was contracted by Cangelosi to represent him in a civil lawsuit regarding condo association fees. The plaintiff contends the defendant contracted the firm at a fee of $275 per hour for attorneys and $125 for law clerks. Beevers & Beevers  alleges that Cangelosi agreed to the fee agreement and to pay all invoices, but that he did not pay the amount requested within 10 days of being billed.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $26,846.87 is sought by the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 740-314.
