GRETNA – A transportation company is being sued by a number of people who claim they were not paid for leasing their vehicles that were used to transport Orleans Parish school children.
Fred Jacob, Holly Magee, Louvenia Penwright and Walter Richardson filed suit against Roy Cage and Cage Bus Transportation LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court.
The plaintiffs assert they were contracted by Cage and Cage Bus Transportation to provide transportation for children attending Orleans Parish Public Schools. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs were to be paid a fixed rate per day or month for the driver’s fuel, insurance and maintenance. However, the plaintiffs claim they were never paid and that Magee is owed $13,000 for leasing her bus for 67 days at $250 per day, Jacob is owed $5,200 for a rental lasting nearly five month, Penwright is owed $15,125 for the lease of a handicapped bus at $350 per day and a regular bus at $250 per day and Richardson is owed $13,892.50.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages for repayment are sought by all plaintiffs.
The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
