NEW ORLEANS – A woman who was purportedly injured after slipping in an unknown liquid at a convenience store is suing over her alleged injuries.
Vickie Buchanan filed suit against Circle K Stores Inc. and The Travelers Indemnity Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 30.
Buchanan declares on Aug. 14, 2013, she was a patron at the Circle K store located at 704 Howard Ave. in New Orleans, owned by Circle K Stores Inc., wherein she slipped and fell in an unknown liquid on the floor in an aisle.
The plaintiff states she suffered severe and debilitating injuries as a consequence of the episode.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain a reasonably safe place for its patrons, taking proper measures to protect the safety of the patrons, inspect and supervise its premises and warn patrons of the hazardous natures of the premises.
The petitioner is seeking an unspecified amount in damages for pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of wages, loss of future income, loss of consortium and disabilities.
The plaintiff is represented by Edward J. Womac Jr. of Edward J. Womac Jr. & Associates LLC.
The case has been assigned to Div. F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
