NEW ORLEANS – A woman is suing claiming she fell in a hole and was injured at a New Orleans residence.
Nakisha Johnson filed suit against Eric Coleman and Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s of London subscribing to Certificate Number OM-PL-A4116 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court on August 1.
Johnson claims on Sept. 1, 2013, at approximately 7 a.m., she was a guest at a residence located at 3125 Music Street in New Orleans, when she allegedly fell in a hole at the bottom of the outside stairs. The residence, at the time, was owned by Eric Coleman and insured by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s of London, according to the suit.
The plaintiff contends she suffered severe injuries to her right foot as a result of the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly maintain the property, failing to fill the hole, not keeping grass cut to prevent hazardous conditions, failing to repair a dangerous condition and warn of a dangerous condition.
The plaintiff is seeking upwards of $75,000 in damages for pain and suffering, disabilities, loss of wages, medical expenses and travel expenses.
The petitioner is represented by Danielle Treada Way Hufft of Herman, Herman & Katz LLC.
The case has been assigned to Div. J Judge Paula A. Brown.
