NEW ORLEANS – A janitorial services company is suing a charter school seeking up to $28,000 involving a binding agreement made in 2012.
GCA Services Group filed suit against Capital One New Beginnings Charter School Network and New Beginnings Schools Foundation in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 19.
On Dec. 18, 2012, Sametta Brown, chief executive officer of Capital One, signed a binding agreement with GCA for certain educational services. The last payment made by Capital One upon this agreement was on June 9, 2014 for approximately $8,212.64. On April 29, 2014, GCA proceeded to send a letter to Capital One stating the total amount due, precisely $28,579.03, since the enactment of the contractual agreement.
The plaintiff is represented by George D. Fagan and Tiffany Thomas Smith of Leake & Anderson LLP.
The case has been assigned to Div. M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
