Parish suing commercial boat owner for allegedly damaging water line to Grand Isle

GRETNA – A parish government is suing a commercial boat owner who allegedly damaged a water line feeding a coastal community.

Jefferson Parish filed suit against T.L.C. Marine Service Inc. and its insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 9.

The plaintiff claims that on Sept. 16, 2013 the M/V/ TLC Commander, owned and operated by T.L.C. Marine Service Inc., damaged the Grand Isle Waterline when it collided with it. The plaintiff alleges that incident resulted in damages worth $274,779.20.

The defendant is accused of causing property damage.

Jefferson Parish is represented by W. Reed Smith, assistant parish attorney for the Jefferson Parish Attorney’s Office.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.
