Shoring company files claim against couple for breach of contract

Shoring

NEW ORLEANS – A major shoring company claims it failed to receive compensation for completion of a construction contract.

Orleans Shoring LLC filed suit against Su and Bryan Nguyen in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 23.

On Jan. 21, 2013, Orleans Shoring entered into a contractual agreement with the defendants, the suit says. Orleans Shoring purportedly promised to evaluate repair problems enacted by a previous contractor. The plaintiffs allegedly fulfilled all the necessary promises within the contract, however, they failed to receive any compensation stipulated under the agreement.

The defendants have allegedly breached contract by failing to pay Orleans Shoring precisely $14,234.37. As a result of this alleged failure, the plaintiffs have filed a statement of claim for the outstanding sum due, which has since been filed and recorded within the Recorder of Mortgages for the Parish of Orleans on Sept. 24, 2013.

Orleans Shoring is also allegedly due to recover at least 25 percent of the outstanding amount due as well as a minimum of $500 for court fees.

Attorney Jason Wade represents the plaintiffs.

The case has been assigned to Div. L Chief Judge Kern A. Reese.

Case no. 2014-09332.
