Customer sued for alleged refusal to pay $22K for home elevation

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A shoring company is suing a customer it claims has refused to pay for a completed home elevation.

Orleans Shoring LLC filed suit against Lisa Ford in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 8.

Orleans Shoring LLC asserts that on July 24, 2013 it entered into a contract with Ford to elevate her home located at 3829 Clover Lane in Harvey. The plaintiff claims it provided labor, services, materials and equipment and began work on the property. However, Orleans Shoring LLC alleges that Ford failed to pay $22,331.61 for elevating the home. The plaintiffs contend they have placed a lien on the property seeking payment.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount $22,331.61, plus 25 percent interest for attorney’s fees and court costs are sought by the plaintiff.

Orleans Shoring LLC is represented by attorney Jason Wade of Harahan.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.

Case no. 743-174.
