Marina sued by boater alleging injury from faulty dock

Personal injury lawsuit raleigh

GRETNA – A boater is suing the owner of a local marina after he allegedly fell and was injured due to loose boards on the dock.

Nicholas Boudreaux filed suit against SLAS Marine Inc. and its insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 7.

Boudreaux asserts that he was using the boating facilities at the marina owned by SLAS Marine Inc. located at 5057 Kenal Road in Lafitte and was stepping off his boat when boards on the dock failed beneath him causing him to fall. The plaintiff claims that in the incident he broke some of his ribs and injured his hip and neck.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the dock, failing to warn patrons of a dangerous condition, failing to provide a safe place for patrons and failing to act as a prudent person.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, pain and suffering and permanent disability.

Boudreaux is represented by Keith L. Magness of the Gretna-based Law Office of Keith L. Magness LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 744-117.
