GRETNA – An office building owner is suing his property insurer over alleged storm water damage.

Lou Grace Cantrelle filed suit against Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 12.

Cantrelle alleges that Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation was her property insurer at his office building located at 310 Weyer St. in Gretna. The plaintiff contends that on Nov. 12, 2013 she was notified of a discoloration on the wood paneling on the interior of an office of attorney Nelson J. Cantrelle, who filed this lawsuit on her behalf. Cantrelle asserts that the discoloration was later attributed to a water leak that had spread throughout a large portion of the building caused by various storms. However, the plaintiff claims the defendant refused to compensate her for any of the damages.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for repairs to the building.

Cantrelle is represented by attorney Nelson J. Cantrelle of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.

Case no. 744-192.
