NEW ORLEANS – A woman is suing a local night club claiming she fractured her left wrist when she allegedly slipped and fell inside the establishment while dancing.

Michele Lipari filed suit against Caesars Entertainment Operating Company Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 20.

The Masquerade Night Club is located inside Harrah’s New Orleans located at 8 Canal St. in New Orleans.

On Feb. 9, 2014, the plaintiff contends she was dancing on a raised platform next to the Masquerade Night Club VIP Lounge, when suddenly and without warning, she allegedly slipped and fell. The lawsuit filing describes Lipari’s fall as painful and arduous.

“[S]he slipped and fell several feet onto the lower level, thereby causing the damages and injuries to plaintiff complained herein,” the lawsuit states.

The plaintiff asserts she suffered acute personal injuries including a fractured left wrist as a result of the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to provide railings in the area adjacent to the Masquerade Night Club VIP Lounge, monitor a hazardous condition and provide railings around the dance floor.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages for pain and suffering, disabilities, medical expenses, loss of wages and loss of enjoyment of life.

Attorney Steven B. Badeaux represents the petitioner.

The case has been assigned to Div. M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
