NEW ORLEANS – A group of former solar panel company sales people contend they were not paid according to terms in their contract following their discharge.
Paulette J. Pierce, William A. Lawton, Shane S. Powell and Thao Nguyen filed suit against Sader Power Enterprises LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 25.
The defendant Sader Power is a solar panel equipment provider with its main location at 9930 Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans, and which is also the defendant in a class action lawsuit accusing it of misleading customers.
The plaintiffs claim that they were hired by the defendant to sell and lease “solar panel apparatuses” until they were discharged on Sept. 1, 2014. The petitioners alleged they carried out their duties under contract with Sader Power until their termination. The plaintiffs contend more than 15 days elapsed since their discharge without receiving any compensation agreed under contract with the defendant.
On Nov. 11, 2014, Pierce filed a claim for past earnings due in the amount of $11,666.65 against the defendant. The following day, William Lawton filed a similar claim in the amount of $14,583.34. On Nov. 17, 2014, both Shane Powell and Thao Nguyen followed suit, with the former demanding $6,108.33 in past wages due, and the latter demanding $4,333.34 in past wages due.
The plaintiffs are represented by Daniel A. Meyer of New Orleans-based Bruno and Bruno LLP.
The case has been assigned to Div. N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
