Taco Bell customer sues after slipping in restaurant

Ls1

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing Taco Bell and claiming injuries suffered following a fall due to a slippery floor.

Nedra Porter filed suit against Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company and West Quality Food Service Inc. (KFC/Taco Bell) in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Dec. 8, 2014.

The plaintiff asserts that on June 28, 2014, she was a patron at the Taco Bell restaurant located on 6009 Bullard Avenue in New Orleans when she slipped and fell in water that had pooled on the floor after being mopped. She claims that the business failed to maintain a reasonably safe place for its patrons and maintain its premises and was negligent in creating the dangerous condition which resulted in her slipping.

The plaintiffs seek an unspecified amount in damages for physical pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earnings and permanent disability.

The plaintiffs are represented by Edward J. Womac Jr. and Anthony J. Milazzo III of New Orleans-based Edward J. Womac Jr. & Associates LLC.

This case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.

Case no. 2014-11649.
