Man sued for allegedly taking out $5K loan that he never repaid

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A man is accused of breaching repayment terms on a personal loan provided to him by local finance company.

Springleaf Financial Services of Louisiana Inc. filed suit against Sean Birden in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 21.

Springleaf contends on Sept. 27, 2014 they provided a personal loan to Birden in the amount of $5,055.98 to be repaid over period of 48 months in $185 installments. The plaintiff asserts the defendant has never made a payment on the loan.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $5,749.19 is sought by the plaintiff.

Springleaf Financial Services of Louisiana Inc. is represented by attorney Tony Dooley of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

Case no. 746-014.
