Copeland’s restaurant patron sues claiming mirror fell off wall, landed on her back

GRETNA – A patron of a local restaurant claims she was injured when a mirror fell off a bathroom wall and struck her in the back.


Anyee Terrell filed suit against Copeland’s of New Orleans LLC and its liability insurance carrier, Evanston Insurance Company, in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 6.

Terrell claims she was having lunch on March 9, 2014 at the Copeland’s located at 701 Veteran’s Blvd. in Metairie with a group of friends. The plaintiff alleges during the meal she went to the restroom where a mirror fell off the bathroom wall, landing on her back. Terrell contends she was severely injured in the incident and had to seek medical treatment at River Parishes Hospital afterward.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, pain and suffering, psychological and emotional distress, physical disability, loss of enjoyment of life and lost wages.

Terrell is represented by attorney Robert R. Faucheux of LaPlace.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
