NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Attorney Generals’ Office is pursuing a lawsuit on behalf of the University of Louisiana System seeking allegedly unpaid tuition and fees from a former University of New Orleans student.
University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed suit against Danielle Maria Johnson in Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 13.
The plaintiff alleges Johnson was enrolled at the University of New Orleans in the fall 2010 semester and incurred tuition and fees in the amount of $1,960. However, the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors contends the defendant has failed to repay the cost of tuition and fees which are still outstanding.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $1,960 plus interest and attorney’s fees is sought by the plaintiff.
The plaintiff is represented by Assistant Attorney General Rokeya J. Morris.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
