NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing Cox Communications claiming she was severely injured in a fall after tripping on an exposed wire.

Tamara Manning filed suit against Cox Communications LLC., Irtanki Inc. and Liberty Mutual Insurance in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 6.

Manning claims she was walking down Timbercrest Dr. in Algiers on June 8, 2014, when she stumbled on an exposed cable protruding from a concrete area. The plaintiff also asserts to have suffered serious personal injury requiring medical treatment as a result of the fall.

The defendants are accused of failing to maintain the property to a reasonably safe standard, allowing an unsafe and dangerous condition, and failing to warn pedestrians, guests, and residents of the dangerous and defective property condition.

The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount of money for pain and suffering, permanent disability, medical bills and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff is represented by Tony Dooley of the New Orleans-based Dooley Law Office LLC.

This case has been assigned to Div. B Judge Regina H. Woods.

Case no. 2015-04327.
