A maintenanc is suing a municipality and three of its officers claiming civil rights violations.
Ronald C. Coleman Sr. of New Orleans filed a lawsuit against the Orleans Parish Sheriff Office; Marlin Glusman; Robert Martin; and J. Ursin in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana.
The suit states that the plaintiff, an employee of the defendant, was dispatched to investigate a building issue on Aug. 4, 2014. According to the complaint, while Coleman maneuvered his maintenance vehicle to unload an 18-foot ladder for the task, deputy chief J. Ursin allegedly harassed him for blocking his vehicle in the parking lot without allowing Coleman to explain; allegedly uttering racial epithets, verbally assaulting him, and collecting his information in order to report him.
Coleman requests declaratory, injunctive and equitable relief plus punitive monetary damages in compensation for the defendant’s unlawful employment practices and retaliation against him because of his race/color.
Citing mental anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, stress and anxiety, emotional pain and suffering, he seeks damages, pre-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, expenses, and court costs.
He is representing himself.
