BATON ROUGE – An East Baton Rouge woman is suing her neighbor claiming she was injured after being attacked by her dog while standing in her driveway.

Jamelle Forcell filed suit against Joanna E. Wall in the 19th Judicial District Court on April 20.

According to court records, the plaintiff was standing in her driveway at her residence located at 16935 Hamilton Ave. in Baton Rouge when the defendant dog suddenly attacked her. As a result of the animal attack, Forcell suffered numerous injuries to her right leg which required stitches.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep her animal under proper control, failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to warn people of a dangerous environment, and failing to secure or contain her animal. The plaintiff claims that she was severely injured by the attack from the defendant’s dog.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for damages, medical expenses, physical pain, emotional distress and court fees.

Attorney Niles B. Haymer of Baton Rouge is representing the plaintiff.

This case has been assigned to Division F Judge Timothy Kelley.
