Engineering firm sued for nearly $20K in back rent

GRETNA – An engineering firm is being sued for allegedly failing to pay nearly $20K in rent for a commercial property.

Martha Wikstrom filed suit against Gulf Engineering Company LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court.

Wikstrom alleges that on Dec. 23, 2013 Gulf Engineering Company LLC entered into a contract with her to lease a commercial property she owns. The plaintiff contends that under the terms of the lease the defendant was to rent the property for three years at a rate of $3,250 per month. Wikstrom asserts that since December 2014 Gulf Engineering Company has failed to pay rent and owes $19,500.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $19,500 is sought by the plaintiff.

Wikstrom is represented by attorney Thomas M. Beh of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.

Case no. 750-167.
