Citibank sues man over $4K loan

BATON ROUGE – A corporate banking and finance company is suing an East Baton Rouge man for allegedly breaching his loan contract.

Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC, which is representing Citibank, filed suit against Floyd D. Marshall in the 19th Judicial District Court on April 21.

According to the lawsuit filing, the defendant entered into an agreement with the plaintiff for a loan. The defendant allegedly failed to pay anything on his account leaving the principal balance of $4,217.15. The plaintiff claims a letter was sent to the defendant asking him to pay the remaining balance, but the defendant failed to make any payments within the required 30 days.

The plaintiff is asking that the defendant pay the full amount of $4,217.15, with attorney fees and court cost.

Attorney Elizabeth L. Hyman of New Orleans represents the plaintiff.

This case has been assigned to Division I Judge R. Michael Caldwell.
