GRETNA – A pain clinic and its owners are being sued after a patient allegedly suffered spinal damage during a procedure.

Daniel J. Ronquille, and wife Sandra Ronquille, filed suit against Dr. Tarun Jolly M.D, Louisiana Pain Specialists LLC, Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Company and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 30.

Ronquille claims that on Dec. 6, 2011 he underwent a pain management procedure performed by Jolly to insert a spinal cord stimulator during which he suffered a spinal cord injury which caused extreme pain, weakness in his right leg and the inability to stand or walk. The plaintiff alleges that since the incident he has had to undergo ongoing medical treatment, including surgery, to treat severe pain and other issues.

The defendant is accused of medical malpractice.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, aggravation, annoyance, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of use of parts of body, bodily disability, impairment of psychological functioning, disability and impairment from earning an income.

Ronquille is represented by Gissel M. Ferriol of New Orleans-based Ferriol, Pérez & Gordon LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.

Case no. 751-117.
