A Louisiana man is suing his former employer after his manager allegedly engaged him in inappropriate physical contact and inappropriate conversations.

Alan J. Cox Sr. filed a complaint Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana against Cameron International Corp., alleging workplace sexual harassment and discriminatory termination.

The complaint states that during the time Cox worked at the defendant's facility in St. Rose from July 2010 to April 18, 2013, he was subjected to repeated inappropriate and undesired physical touching and inappropriate conversations by Greg Penzato, the plant manager.

According to the complaint, upper management knew of the inappropriate behavior but did nothing to stop it.

In early April 2013, Cox explicitly told Penzato to stop the inappropriate behavior, then Cox was fired on April 18, 2013. As a result of the discriminatory termination, Cox suffered loss of wages and benefits, mental anguish, inconvenience, and loss of enjoyment of life.

Cox seeks general and special damages, plus attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by James E. Cazalot Jr. in Madisonville.
