An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical treatment, medical expenses, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, lost wages and emotional distress.

McGowan is represented by Brad J. Gegenheimer of Gretna-based Grant & Barrow PLC.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
