Two Louisiana men are suing their former employer and several members of management, alleging racial discrimination.

Justin Bush and Shannon Fagen filed suit on Aug. 25 in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana against Take 5 Oil Change LLC, Brandon Tuillier, Tommy Mizel, Devin Rice, Blake Dunnaway, and Aaron (last name unknown), alleging racial discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, Bush, a Caucasian man married to an African-American woman, was employed by Take 5, which has a fully Caucasian workforce. He allegedly began to notice his co-workers making racist comments. Upon learning that his wife was African-American, the situation allegedly worsened. Bush resigned on May 21, the complaint states.

Fagen claims he was retaliated against for standing up for and being friendly with Bush and claims he was coerced into denying any presence of racial discrimination in the workplace.

The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages, front pay, litigation costs, and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. They are represented by Ronald L. Wilson of New Orleans.
