A Louisiana man and woman are suing a motor home manufacturer and dealership alleging that their vehicle was insufficiently repaired.

Thomas and Rachel Picard filed suit on Aug. 18 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Tiffin Motor Homes Inc., Navistar Inc., and Dixie Motors, LLC over allegations of them inadequately repairing the motor home, which was under warranty.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs bought a new 2013 Tiffin Allegro Breeze from Dixie Motors on May 29, 2013. Since then, they have had many problems with the vehicle, including but not limited to water leaks, windshield defects, engine defects, and fuel pump defects. They had allegedly taken it in four times for repairs, rendering it unusable for more than 200 days in total. However, they claim that the problems with the vehicle were never adequately repaired and persisted.

The Picards are seeking an amount of more than $300,000 for refund on the vehicle, insurance premiums, maintenance costs, repair costs, damages, litigation costs, past and future economic losses, and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. They are represented by Richard C. Dalton of Mandeville.
