NEW ORLEANS – A Lafourche Parish plumbing contractor says he was injured aboard the marine vessel Ken C. Tamblyn, a steel-hulled offshore supply vessel, allegedly due to the owners’ negligence.

Harold L. Darville filed a lawsuit Dec. 2 in Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans against Tidewater Marine Service Inc., BBVA Compas Financial Group and Express Weld LLC, alleging liability for workplace injuries.

According to the complaint, Darville was hired Nov. 12, 2014, by Express Weld to provide plumbing services on the Tamblyn. The suit says Darville’s neck lower back, chest and lower extremities were injured when a portion of the gangway slipped and fell with him onto the dock. The plaintiff claims his injuries have prevented recreational activities, interfered with his work and cost him large sums for medical care.

Darville seeks punitive and compensatory damages to be proven at trial, plus litigation costs. He is represented by attorneys Lawrence Blake Jones and Kristi A. Post and of the firm Scheuermann & Jones in New Orleans.
