NEW ORLEANS – Two Houston, Texas firms are suing CLK Exploration Co. of Metairie, alleging CLK has neglected payments it allegedly owes under several oil well lease agreements.

Dynamic Offshore Resources NS LLC and Fieldwood Energy Offshore LLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 14 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against CLK Exploration Co. LLC, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Dynamic Offshore and Fieldwood Energy have either closed and removed operations from oil wells or else paid to maintain operations at others, for which CLK is contractually obligated to reimburse the plaintiffs under the lease agreements. The lease also stipulates that interest should accrue on unpaid balances of the amounts owed.

The plaintiffs seek damages of $221,389.21, plus interest and litigation costs. They are represented by attorneys James D. Bercaw, Laura E. Avery of King, Krebs & Jurgens PLLC in New Orleans.
