Van crash

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish man says an accident involving the Dodge van he was driving and a freight truck left him with lost wages and costly medical bills.

Fouad Cherkaoui filed a lawsuit Jan. 4 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against J.A. Benoit Pinel, Artisan Freight LLC, Inland Lease & Rental LLC and Prime Property & Casualty Insurance Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Cherkaoui was struck from behind on May 16 by a freight truck operated by Pinel as they traveled westbound in the 1900 block of Interstate 10 in Jefferson Parish.
