NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana musical producer and a  production are suing Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment, claiming they were never paid for 16 recordings they produced under contract.

Nightrydas LLC and Maurice Jordan filed a lawsuit Jan. 26 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Cash Money Records Inc. and Young Money Entertainment LLC, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs entered into an agreement on May 12, 2011, to provide musical production and development services for sound recordings for the defendant. Two other agreements were issued in 2012 and 2015, according to the suit. The suit says Jordan and Nightrydas are owed substantial sums for their services and royalties on 16 master recordings they created for various artists, including Lil Wayne.

The plaintiffs seek an accounting of all money owed, compensatory damages to be proven at trial, interest and litigation costs. They are represented by attorney Kent Barnett and Stephen M. Kepper of Intellectual Property Consulting LLC in New Orleans.
