NEW ORLEANS – Two real estate firms are petitioning federal court in the Eastern District of Louisiana to confirm an arbitration panel’s award in its favor.

White Oak Realty LLC and Citrus Realty LLC filed a lawsuit March 15 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Fortress Group USA LLC and Fortress Clay LLC.

According to the complaint, the parties submitted a dispute involving a land sale to arbitration, which was conducted in New Orleans in 2014. The suit says the arbitration panel terminated two sales agreements between White Oak and Citrus Realty, respectively, and Fortress Group, effective from Nov. 1, 2014, and that each party must bear its own arbitration costs.

White Oak and Citrus are represented by attorneys Bruce V. Schewe, Dan Zimmerman of Phelps Dunbar LLP in New Orleans.
