Lake Charles resident accuses Halliburton Energy Services Inc. of unpaid wages

Money owed

LAKE CHARLES – A mud engineer is suing an oilfield servicing company over allegations of unpaid wages.

Roger Haese filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lake Charles Division against Halliburton Energy Services Inc., citing violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between July 2012 and July 2015, he was not paid proper overtime premium for his extra hours worked. The plaintiff holds Halliburton Energy Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay him one-and-one-half times of his hourly rate for all hours he worked in excess of 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs and for all other general and equitable relief. He is represented by Edward J. Fonti of Jones, Tête, Fonti & Belfour LLP in Lake Charles.
