NEW ORLEANS — An oil and gas industry services provider is suing two energy companies, alleging breach of contract involving a payment of more than $1.7 million.

Aker Solutions Inc. filed a complaint March 29, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Shamrock Energy Solutions LLC and Samurai International Petroleum LLC, both of Houma, alleging they failed to comply with a master service contract,

According to the complaint, Aker did not receive payment totaling $1,780,144.19 for work it performed. The plaintiff alleges the defendants never disputed their invoices. The suit says Jeff Trahan, manager of Shamrock and Samurai, even promised Aker the invoices would be paid, plus $500,000 of the outstanding balance by the end of 2015. The money has not been paid, the lawsuit states.

Aker Solutions seeks trial by jury,  judgment requiring the defendants to pay the full $1,780,144.19, as well as pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, legal costs and any other relief deemed proper by the court. It is represented by attorneys David S. Bland of Bland & Partners PLLC in New Orleans and Brian J. Comarda of Bland & Partners in Houston.
