GRETNA – An Orleans woman is filing a complaint following an incident in which she allegedly was caused injury due to a faulty chair.

Bessie Taylor filed suit against Quality Seating Co. Inc., Louisiana-I Gaming and Boomtoom LLC of Delaware, both doing business as Boomtown Belle Casino, and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 14.

According to the claim, Taylor was a patron of Boomtown Belle Casino on April 13, 2015, when the incident took place. Taylor allegedly sat at a table and was caused injury when the chair she was using broke, allowing her to fall and sustain injuries to her bones, nerves, ligaments and blood vessels upon impact with the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence in manufacturing a poorly designed chair without an express warranty and providing a chair that was unreasonably dangerous.

Taylor is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Charlsey Wolff of The Law Offices of Wolff & Wolff in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
