ALEXANDRIA — A fertilizer distributor is suing a Ferriday crop farm, alleging failure to pay at least $126,000 for delivered products.

Helena Chemical Company filed a lawsuit April 26 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana Alexandria Division against James Ross Farms, Glaston James McIntosh III and Barton Ross McIntosh, alleging they failed to comply with their credit sales and services agreement.

According to the complaint, Helena Chemical sold and delivered ordered merchandise to the defendants in the sum of $126,050.81. Despite a demand by the plaintiff for the defendants to pay, no payment has been received.

Helena Chemical seeks a trial by jury, judgment for $126,050.81, together with monthly finance charges of $1,743.83 from March 25, 2016 until the amount is paid, plus expenses and reasonable attorney fees. It is represented by attorney Marshall T. Napper of Shotwell, Brown & Sperry in Monroe.
